To maximize your results, read the pre-care and post-care instructions carefully! NOTE: Your pre-care is just as important as after-care for the pigment to “take” and provide optimal results. If you have additional questions, please see our Microblading FAQs.
PRE-CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Your pre-care is just as important as after-care to retain pigment and maximize results. Before your session,
Ensure you are a good candidate for the microblading procedure.
Things to avoid 48 hours prior to your appointment
Aspirin, ibuprofen for 48 hours prior to your appointment
Supplements: niacin, vitamin E, and fish oils
Things to avoid 24 hours leading up to your appointment
Alcohol and caffeine
Heavy sweating/working out
You must be off of Accutane (or any products similar to Accutane) for at least one year prior
If you have already had Botox done, it is fine, although you must wait at least 4 weeks following your Botox injection. Pro tip: It is best to have your microblading session procedure done first, then Botox later.
Refrain from chemical peels or acid treatments in the brow area at least 8 weeks prior to your appointment.
Sun damaged skin must be completely healed
Discontinue use of retinols/retin-A or any anti-aging creams for 2 weeks
Avoid waxing the brow area for 4 days prior to procedure.
AFTER-CARE INSTRUCTIONS
The complete healing process will take 14 days and we highly recommend a dry heal - this means NO application of creams, oils or make-up near the brow area for 14 days. We see best results with the type of aftercare, however, we have tattoo ointment available for purchase at the studio if you prefer. Here is what you can expect the for the next two weeks:
DAY 1
Congratulations on your new brows! On this first day of your appointment, there is no need to do anything. Leave your brows alone to allow the healing process to begin.
DAY 2 & 3
With clean fingers gently rinse your brows 3 times a day then pat dry. This is an important step in the healing process that prevents lymphatic fluid from sitting on your fresh brows. If lymph is not removed it may cause premature scabbing resulting in faded strokes.
DAY 4 THROUGH 14
Let the dry heal begin! For the remainder of the healing process:
* No working out or sweating
* No water or moisture around the brows
* No direct sunlight
* Avoid excessive facial movement
Please contact your health care practitioner and brow artist if there is any signs of infection.
